Tekkeköy Microsoft 365 Setup and Licensing

Short answer: Microsoft 365 is Microsoft's cloud service that bundles the Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), business email (Exchange Online), Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive in one subscription. SMB Teknoloji chooses the right plan, supplies the licences, sets everything up including security, and can manage it every month. The work is done remotely, so the process is the same whether your business is in Türkiye or in another country.

Which plan suits whom?

Business plans are limited to 300 users. Plan contents, including whether Teams is part of a plan, change from time to time; the table summarises the situation as of October 2026, and Microsoft's comparison page is the reference for current details.

Not everyone needs the same plan. Staff who only use email are well served by Exchange Online; plans can be mixed per user so you do not license more than you need.

Licence supply

Licences are supplied through an authorised distribution channel and assigned to a Microsoft tenant opened in your company's name. The tenant's admin account is yours; even if you stop working with us, your licences and data stay with you. Monthly or annual commitment and the terms for adding or removing users are stated clearly in the quote.

Setup

• Domain verification and DNS records: MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, Autodiscover
• Users, groups, shared mailboxes and permission structure; an offboarding procedure for leavers
• Teams: teams, channels, meeting and guest rules
• SharePoint and OneDrive: department libraries, sharing rules, limits on external sharing; migration from an old file server
• Migration of email, calendars and contacts from the old system (Gmail, hosting mail, legacy Exchange)
• Deployment of the Office apps and preparation of Outlook profiles

Security

In a Microsoft 365 left with default settings the biggest risk is a single account with a stolen password. Security is therefore part of the setup:

• Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for every user; separate, protected admin accounts
• Conditional access: blocking sign-ins from unknown countries, unmanaged devices or legacy protocols (Business Premium / Entra ID P1)
• Device management with Intune: encrypted disks, up-to-date operating systems, remote wipe of company data from lost devices; on personal phones only the company apps are protected
• Endpoint protection with Defender for Business; phishing and malicious-attachment filters
• Separate backup of Microsoft 365 data: a restore point for files that are deleted or encrypted by ransomware

Monthly management

Joiners and leavers, licence tracking and spotting unused licences, monitoring security alerts, user support and a configuration review every quarter. Under managed services, with a fixed monthly contract.

What is delivered

Tenant and DNS configuration report, user and licence list, summary of security settings, admin credentials (in a password vault that belongs to you) and a short user guide for staff.

What is not included

Microsoft service outages and licence price changes are outside our control; we inform you when they happen. Cloud servers and remote desktops are a separate service: Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
