Definition

DICOM is the international standard for storing medical images (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound) and transferring them between devices. A DICOM file carries not only the image but the patient name, study date, device and acquisition parameters, which prevents images being mixed up between patients. The imaging device sends the study to an archive server called PACS over DICOM and the physician opens it on a workstation or in a browser. DICOM and HL7 work together: HL7 carries the order, DICOM the image. Storage volumes are large, so an archive plan, backup and access rights are an inseparable part of imaging systems.

Så använder SMB Teknoloji det

We set up the imaging-device-to-PACS link, design the DICOM archive with redundant storage and access rights, and provide remote reading access without the images leaving the institution.
