Definition

A NAS is a storage device that connects straight to the network and shares files as folders. Users reach it like a network drive; it is the most common solution for accounting files, projects, scan archives and camera recordings. It holds several disks running redundantly and permissions are set per user and folder. A single unit is enough for small offices; rack models follow as you grow. NAS is designed for file sharing; for heavy loads such as databases and virtualisation a block-level SAN is preferred.

Så använder SMB Teknoloji det

We deploy it as office file server, camera recording target and backup store; permissions are mapped to Active Directory and a nightly copy goes to a second NAS or a cloud target.
