Definition

Active Directory is the directory service that manages a company's users, computers, groups and permissions from one centre. An employee reaches every PC, file server and printer with a single username and password; when they leave, the account is disabled in one place. Group policies apply password rules, screen lock, USB restrictions and software deployment to all computers centrally. For any business beyond five to ten PCs it is the basic tool that ends the situation where everyone is local administrator and passwords are stuck to monitors. It can be used alongside or instead of cloud-based directory services.

How SMB Teknoloji uses it

We install the directory service, design users and permissions around the company's organisation, apply password and security policies centrally and tie file-server permissions to groups.
