Definition
Entra ID is Microsoft's cloud identity and access management service; until 2023 it was called Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). It verifies who you are when signing in to Microsoft 365, Azure and thousands of cloud apps, and enforces multi-factor authentication and conditional access. It can be synchronised with on-premises Active Directory so staff use one account everywhere.
