Definition
Structured cabling is running the data, telephone, camera and access-point cables of a building in a planned, labelled and documented way according to standards. Every outlet goes to a cabinet, to a patch panel in that cabinet and from there to a switch; which outlet is on which port is written in the diagram. The standards (ISO/IEC 11801, TIA-568) define the cable category, the 90-metre maximum run, bend radius and test values. Proper structured cabling serves for 15 to 20 years and the cable to replace in a fault is found within minutes. A tangle of unlabelled cables pulled at random through the false ceiling is the most frequent and most expensive source of network problems.
How SMB Teknoloji uses it
In network installations we run cabling to the standard, measure every link with a certifier and hand over the test report and labelled diagram; we also tidy up existing chaotic cabling.
