A firewall is the device or software that sits between the company network and the internet and decides by rules which traffic may pass. It blocks incoming requests by default and lets through only what is allowed; it can also limit outgoing traffic by policy. Modern firewalls add application awareness, content filtering, intrusion detection and VPN termination. The simple filter in a home router is not the same as a business firewall: the business device separates network zones, keeps logs and is managed centrally. Having the rules written down matters as much as the brand of the device.
How SMB Teknoloji uses it
We install and manage firewalls vendor-neutrally: network zones (office, server, camera, guest, production) are separated, rules are handed over in writing, the configuration is backed up and reviewed quarterly for contract customers.
